Select the job vacancy you wish to apply for at usajobs.gov. The federal government uses an automated "Gateway to State" online hiring process for all new candidates. All official United States government job openings are posted here, including potential embassy career opportunities.

Fill out an official application once you have selected the job you wish to apply for. Carefully and accurately answer each question, because your answers will be used to evaluate your qualifications for your selected position.

Upload your completed application to the Department of State via usajobs.gov. Once you have completed your online application, you will be given the option to "Upload Documents." Select this option, choose your file type and click "Upload."
