How to Use a Fire Pit Fuel
Fire pits are used on patios, decks and in outdoor living spaces for warmth and as a focal point for gatherings. Made of steel, copper and iron, fire pits are available in a range of sizes and designs to meet a variety of needs. Fire wood is commonly burned in a fire pit. But some people do not want the smell or smoke of wood. Alternative fuels are available for use in fire pits. Does this Spark an idea?

Hold a container of gel fuel and shake to thoroughly mix.

Remove the top from the gel fuel container and set the container in the center of the fire pit.

Light the container with a butane barbecue lighter. Ignite the lighter and hold the flame near the alcohol gel in the container to light.

Use the canister of gel fuel for as long as 2 1/2 hours. Extinguish the flame of the gel fuel by carefully sliding the lid that was removed from the container back in place to cut off oxygen to the flame.

Allow the gel fuel and container to completely cool for at least 30 minutes before attempting to handle or light again for use.
