How to Draw Goth Girls
Drawing Goth girls adds personality to basic figure drawing. Goth is a punk subculture characterized by music and fashion, with an emphasis on individualism, creativity and gloom. Goth girls wear primarily black with touches of red and purple. Their clothing is ostentatious with a lot of varying textures. Makeup is key, as are specific hairstyles. Goth girls come in many sizes and heights, so drawing one will focus more on accessories than body shape.

Draw a basic human figure. You can use tracing paper to trace a figure out of a magazine, or draw one from your imagination. The average human is eight times the height of their head, but artists often draw caricatures with much larger heads. Choose a balance for the type of Goth girl you want to draw.

Sketch in the eyes, nose and mouth. Artists draw caricatures and manga characters with very large eyes. For a more realistic character, trace the face of a model.

Add clothing. Draw a tight tank top with a fishnet long-sleeve shirt underneath. Add long ripped pants or a short skirt with fishnet stockings. Goth girls also wear Victorian-style dresses in velvet and tight corsets. Add bulky heeled shoes or tall boots.

Color in your character's skin tone. Goths are pale because they keep out of the sun. Color in the clothing. Remember to keep your Goth girl's outfit primarily black. You can add touches of deep red or dark purple to her clothing.

Add makeup. Outline the Goth girl's eyes heavily in black, and add dramatic black eyelashes. Draw in very thin, high eyebrows to look like the Goth girl drew them in herself. Color her lips and fingernails black or very dark red.

Draw her hair. Goth hair is black and spiky, sometimes with streaks of purple, blue, hot pink or neon green. It can be very short or shoulder length and is usually asymmetrical and uneven.

Add accessories. Goth girls often wear a lot of silver and black accessories. Draw a dog collar around her neck or wrist. Add multiple earrings and piercings on the face, such as a nose ring, septum piercing or eyebrow piercing.
