How to Delete or Clear an Instant Search Box in Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer creates a history of all searches conducted through the browser. Searches are saved in the built-in history feature of Internet Explorer as well as in the cookies and temporary Internet files of the computer. Clear the history of the search box in Internet Explorer to clean up the cookies and temporary Internet files on your computer and prevent others from viewing your searches.

Instructions

1. Click "Start" and then click "Internet Explorer."

2. Click "Safety" on the upper-right of the Web browser Command Bar.

3. Click "Delete Browsing History" from the Safety drop-down menu.

4. Check the boxes next to "Temporary Internet files," "Cookies" and "History."

5. Click the "Delete" button.
