Okidata makes professional grade office printers. The 5200 series is capable of high-volume printing. Once you've unpacked your Okidata 5200 laser printer and found a suitable location for it, you should prepare the printer for use. Preparing it involves installing the image drum/toner unit, preparing the fuser, loading software and paper, and making connections.

      Press the release button to the left of the cover to release the top cover. Then remove the black image drum and toner unit. Keep it upright so it doesn't spill. Remove all of the packing and shipping tape and then replace it. Push the lock lever towards the back of the printer as far as it will go.

      Remove the yellow, magenta and cyan cartridges and remove the packing materials, then replace them. Remove the fuser shipping materials and the orange band to prepare the fuser. Just push the materials to the left and lift, then close the top cover. Load the paper tray after adding some paper. This printer holds 300 sheets.

      Plug the printer into the power outlet and turn the printer on with the "Power" switch. Then connect the printer to your computer with the USB cable. Insert the disc that came with the printer into the computer's disc drive to load it. Allow the disc to mount and follow the prompts to install the software.

      Press the "+" button until you see "Information Menu" to print a demonstration page. Press "Enter" and then press the "+" button again until you see "Demo1." Then press "Enter" again and a page will print.
