How to Import Articles Into WordPress
No matter what blogging platform you start out on, you can always make the switch to WordPress. Most platforms come with export tools that allow you to create a file containing all of your content. Use one of the "Import" tools within WordPress to upload the file and import your posts and pages. When you import articles into WordPress from another website, WordPress will publish the content with its original dates, making it look as if the content existed there all along.

Tips & Warnings
You can copy and paste articles from a word processor to the editor box within WordPress. WordPress keeps the formatting of headers, bold and italic text and so on. The website's styles will ultimately determine how the text is formatted, though.
WordPress often fails to import images from one blog to another. Check your imported content for broken images and re-upload them as needed.
When importing content from static websites, you must manually copy and paste the text and images into the WordPress post and page editors.
