How to Make a Fake Body for Halloween

A fake life-sized body has lots of potential for Halloween scares -- sit it in a chair on your porch, prop it up in your front yard or lay it out on the sidewalk. A fake body can be headless, a prop for your jack-o-lantern or you can try and make it look like a real person with a sack over his head. If you don't have suitable old clothes, buy them at a thrift store. You can purchase hay at a gardening center.

Things You'll Need

  • Bale of hay
  • Old flannel shirt
  • Old jeans
  • Safety pins
  • Boots
  • Gloves
  • Button up an old shirt and fill it entirely with hay, starting with the arms.

  • Fill the legs of an old pair of jeans with hay. Leave a bit less filling in the knees to make them bendable.

  • Place the torso on top of the legs. Tuck in the shirt and pin it to the top of the pants with safety pins.

  • Push the tops of the boots over the cuffs of the jeans.

  • Fill the gloves with hay and pin them over the cuffs of the shirt.

  • Pose the fake body as desired before adding props or a head.
