How to Draw a Tattoo Flower
Tattoo flower designs come in a variety of shapes, forms and sizes. When drawing your tattoo flower, the first thing you need to do is decide which type of tattoo flower you would like. Research popular flowers and start by looking at traditional tattoo flowers such as roses, hibiscus and lotus flowers. Think about where you would place your flower tattoo on the body and adjust your flower tattoo to fit. Flowers are great tattoos because you can extend and continue the designs in the future.

1
Research different flower tattoos on the Internet, in books, in tattoo shops and on people. The hibiscus flower is a common and popular design so we are going to start by drawing this. Once you have mastered the hibiscus you can develop other floral designs.

2
Draw a circle in the center of your paper. Around the circle draw wide-angled triangles. Following the circle on either end draw curved lines branching off to create your leaf guideline.

3
Draw a dot in the center of the circle. Following the center, draw teardrop shaped petals that follow the line and curve over the triangles on the outside of the circle. The petals should slightly overlap each other and on the tips draw them bending into a swirling point. Inside of the circle, in the center, draw four stamens that pop out. To draw them, draw small sticks coming out from the center with a small circle on each end.

4
Draw the leaves around the flower shape. Around the hibiscus, along the leaf guidelines, draw wide leaf shapes that fold and curve above and around the flower. The leaves will add depth and body to your drawing, so draw them carefully. Don't draw too many leaves.

5
Outline your drawing and erase any pencil lines. Color in your hibiscus flower in a lovely red. Use a dark green for the leaves with shades of yellow in the stamen.
