How to Sell Gifts on Facebook
The Facebook Gift Shop that developers used in 2009 to sell virtual and real items no longer exists in 2011. However, by creating a business page on Facebook, you can use applications, or apps, to sell your items. With the help of an app, a shopper can browse and purchase the gifts you sell directly from your professional Facebook page. To sell gifts, you need to have a Facebook account, which is free. However, it may cost money to utilize the services of a company that can provide you with an application that allows you to sell gifts on Facebook.

Log into your Facebook account.

Click on "Create a Page," which is at the bottom of your "Home" screen.

Click on the box that says, "Brand or Product." When you do this, text will appear in the same box. Click on the tab next to the words "Choose a category," and click on the option that best describes the types of gifts you want to sell on Facebook. Create a name for your page in the following box. Then, agree to the Facebook Pages Terms and click on "Get Started."

Edit your professional Facebook page by clicking on "Edit Page," which is on the right side of the Web page.

Input the appropriate information about your business. The "Manage Permissions" screen will appear after Step 4. After you adjust the setting to your liking, click on "Basic Information" on the left side of the screen to add information about your gift shop such as a Web address, a description of your gift shop and the date you founded your business. Click on "Save" after filling out the information about your business.

Click on "Profile Picture" on the left side of the Web page. Use the "Browse..." button to locate a logo or picture you want to use for page's main picture.

Select an app that will serve as the means to sell your gifts on Facebook. You can find an app to set up an online shop by clicking on "Apps" on the left side of the page. Then, click on "Browse more applications," which is toward the bottom of the page. Select "Business" on the left side of the page to see business-related applications, including those that allow you to sell products, in the "Apps You May Like" section that appears.

Click on an app icon when you find one that you want to use. On the new screen that appears, click on "Go to App."

Create a new account with this app provider if you do not already have one.

Click on the "Settings" or "Edit" tab after creating your account. In the Settings screen, edit your personal information and information about your gift store. On the same screen, you can also upload your business logo. When you are done, remember to save your information.

Add the application to your professional Facebook page using the prompts on the application's site.

Add the gifts you want to sell to the application. If you have a website with your products, you may be able to add the site's data feed. Otherwise, you will need to add each item individually. If you do have to add the items individually, you will also be able to upload pictures of the gifts. Save your work when finished.

Go to your professional Facebook page to view your shop and make any adjustments necessary using the app's main site.
