Draw a star with a face conveying any mood.

From drawing a greeting card to creating a masterpiece, drawing a star with a face may be what your creation is missing. Drawing a star with a face is a way to show approval for kids who have done something well, or gives children a picture to color. Since a star usually is depicted with five points, you will need a protractor to make the points even.

Draw a perfect circle using the protractor. Make sure you do not draw it too dark; you will erase the circle upon completing your star drawing.

Using the protractor, divide the circle into five equal sections. Since a circle has 360 degrees, each section will cover 72 degrees. Draw five upside-down "V" shapes around the outside of the circle, with the point of each V hitting one of the dividing points and the base of each V connecting with the others. Make sure all are of equal proportion, as these form the points of your star.

Draw a face that conveys any mood that you want your star to convey. Two dots or small circles can be used for drawing eyes, a line (curved up, down or straight) can form the mouth, and one more V shape turned any direction can create a nose.

Tips & Warnings

  • Look up a picture of a star on the Internet to get the basic shape down in your mind.

  • Once you get the hang of drawing a star, you can stop using a protractor, and you can stop drawing the circle first.
