How to Make Brown Play Dough
Play dough is a type of modeling compound that is used for play and craft. Brown play dough can be used to make people, animals, food and land formations. It can be used for a school project like a diorama. Salt dough recipes work well when making play dough because when stored properly, it can be reused repeatedly. Best of all, salt dough can be made from ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry. Once you make the salt dough you can use food coloring to make it brown.

Put your saucepan on the stove and turn your burner on low to medium heat. Stir the contents of the pot continuously while it is cooking.
-
4
Remove your saucepan from heat as soon as the contents of the pot form a ball. Remove the ball from the pot and place it on wax paper.

Knead the dough to remove air bubbles and smooth it out. Add between 3 to 5 drops of brown food coloring and knead the color into the dough. To make brown coloring, mix red food coloring with either green or orange food coloring. Green makes a darker earthy brown, and orange makes more of a tan hue. Place the dough in a plastic container for storage.
