How to Draw a Tiara Crown

Tiaras are elegant and symmetrical in design.

Learning to draw a tiara can be fun, but it is also a little precise, as most tiaras are very symmetrical and fancy looking. With a few light lines to begin, drawing the tiara can become more simple and less intimidating. Adding a few touches of personality helps with this project as well.

Things You'll Need

• Pencil
• Paper
• Reference image of a tiara (optional)

Instructions

1. 

   Keep the pencil line light and fluffy at this point, like a cloud.

   Draw a light outline of the overall shape similar to the shape of a cloud. To do this, you can lightly draw a circle then draw a slightly smaller circle on both sides of it equally. Then draw smaller circles on both sides of that.

2. 

   Create triangular and round shapes in the tiara.

   Create more definitive shapes within the light cloud shape. Shapes that are often seen in a tiara are triangular and rectangular, but there are also tiaras that have heart shapes and circular shapes. Decide what shapes to use. A reference photo can be helpful as well. Keep lines still fairly light at this point.

3. 

   Give the tiara some sparkle by adding jewels.

   Lightly draw in details such as scroll lines or jewels. To draw a jewel, decide on a main shape. This is usually a circular shape. Then draw a circle within the circle. Now start drawing lines between the two circles. Within the front circle, which is the only one empty, start drawing diagonal lines, as if slicing a pie. Keep drawing until done. Now add more jewels to the tiara. Keep drawing them symmetrically along the tiara. The more details the better for this project. This will give your drawing a sense of elegance.

4. Make your lines heavier to finalize the drawing. If desired, go over it with a pen or marker and erase the pencil lines.
