How to Transpose Plans Onto Your Computer
Plans for a project can contain complex figures. They may contain images, shapes, colors and a slew of other intricacies. In this instance, you may want to make a digital backup of those plans by transposing them onto your computer. To maintain the integrity of your plans, use a scanner. Microsoft Windows 7 includes built-in functionality that enables you to transpose a set of plans in a few simple steps.

Verify that you have turned on your scanner. Verify that you plugged your scanner into your computer. If any software came with the scanner, install it onto your computer. Windows 7 will generally allow for plug-and-play scanning; however, be ready to install the drivers manually if necessary.

Turn on your computer. Click "Start." Go to "All Programs." Click "Windows Fax and Scan."

Click "Scan." Click "New Scan." Select "Photo" from the profile list. Place your plans onto the scanner face-down. Click "Scan." You will now have a scanned copy of your plans onto your computer.
