1
Open Firefox. Type "about:crashes" into the address bar and press the enter key. Click on the latest crash report to send it to Mozilla -- this can take up to 5 minutes.
-
2
Wait for the report to be sent, then click "Search Mozilla for help" to be directed to help articles based on the crash report.
-
-
3
Click "Help" and select "About Firefox" to check for and install updates -- running an older version of the program may be the cause of the problem.
-
4
Click "Tools" and select "Add-Ons." Click the "Extentions" tab, click the "Settings" button next to the search bar and select "Find Updates." If updates are found, click "Install Updates" then restart Firefox.
-
5
Decipher whether the crashes are caused by plugins -- if Firefox crashes on pages featuring audio, video, images etc, it is likely to be a plugin issue. "Disable" the suspected plugin. If the performance improves, the plugin may be problematic and should be either be updated or left disabled.

Reinstall Firefox as a last resort. This may also solve your problem. Click the Start button and open "Control Panel." Select "Uninstall a Program," locate "Firefox" in the program list, select it and click "Uninstall."
