How to Pop a Banana Out of the Peel

How to Pop a Banana Out of the Peel thumbnail
A little pinch will pop the banana out of its skin.

If someone asked you how you peel a banana or how you get a banana out of its peel, you would probably look at them strangely. You probably have been peeling bananas the same way your whole life: bending the stem to break it and then peeling down the skin. That's a fairly simple way to peel and eat a banana, but there's actually an even easier way. The opposite end of the banana is even easier to work with, and a little strategic pinching will pop the banana right out of its skin. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the banana with the stem end down so that the other end is towards you.

    • 2

Pinch the banana end firmly between your fingers until the skin splits.

    • 3

Peel back the skin halfway down the banana.

    • 4

Pinch the stem end at the bottom to pop the banana loose. Enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Pinching and peeling from the non-stem end reduces the number of banana strings stuck on the banana.
