Most professors have obtained a doctoral level of education. Obtaining your doctorate could take up to seven years of study after completing an undergraduate degree.

      Become a Buddhist monk. Buddhist monks are often called upon to teach the principles and philosophies of the Buddhism. You must also enter into a three-fold refuge of the Buddha, the teachings of Buddha and the community of enlightened believers.

These subjects may include the stages of the path to enlightenment or the types of mind. The exposure and education you receive in a formal training program will vary by institution. The primary focus of most programs is to enable future teachers to deepen their knowledge and experience.
