How to Purge Your Twitter
Twitter is a popular social media service people use to share short messages within their network of friends, family and other followers. If you are concerned your Twitter account may have been compromised or attacked, you should consider performing a complete purge. Purging your Twitter account includes several actions that will better protect the security of your posts and personal information in the future.

Stop using all third-party Twitter applications on your computer and mobile device and, if possible, log out of your Twitter account on those platforms.

Clear the cookies and cache on any Web browser you regularly use with the Twitter website.

Log into your Twitter account in a Web browser, click your account name in the upper-right corner of the screen and choose "Settings."

Go to the "Applications" or "Connections" tab and click "Revoke Access" for each third-party service listed.

Go to the "Password" tab at the top of the screen and set a new password for your Twitter account.

Click "Home" to return to your main Twitter page.

Look through your list of followers and choose "Block" for any account you do not recognize or think might be dangerous.

Click "Messages" at the top of the page and delete any messages from accounts you do not recognize.
