How to Install MS Outlook on Win 7

Microsoft Outlook 2010 is a program that you can install to your computer's hard drive, and then sync with your existing email provider's incoming and outgoing message servers. The Windows 7 operating system is compatible with and integrates effectively with Microsoft Outlook 2010. Microsoft distributes Outlook in retail packaging with a DVD installation disc or as a download directly from its website.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the Outlook 2010 installation disc into your computer's DVD drive, or double-click the downloaded installation file. If you are installing from a disc, click the "Run Setup.exe" option in the "AutoPlay" window after inserting the disc.

    • 2

Click "Yes" to confirm that you want to allow the program to make changes to your computer.

    • 3

Type your product key into the field in the center of the window, and then click "Continue."

    • 4

Check the box to the left of "I accept the terms of this agreement," and then click "Continue."

    • 5

Click "Upgrade" if you are upgrading from an existing Outlook installation, or click "Install" if you are installing the program for the first time.

Tips & Warnings

  • Unlike other Office programs, Microsoft Outlook 2010 cannot coexist on the same computer with previous versions of Microsoft Outlook. However, Outlook will automatically transfer your existing Outlook data files and settings to your Outlook 2010 installation.
