How to Ask a Girl to Be Your Girlfriend Over the Phone

Communicating by phone, while considered old fashioned by some, has its own distinct rewards. The intimacy of the telephone can create just the right mood for taking a relationship to the next level, such as going from casual dating to being an exclusive couple. If your plan is to ask a lucky someone to be your girlfriend over the phone, letting her know your true feelings is the key to your success.

Instructions

1. Arrange for a good time to talk. Let the girl you've been dating know you want to have a serious conversation so she can make sure she's in a good place to listen and respond. It's not a bad idea to do something nice earlier in the day, such as writing her a note, so she has a preview of the coming attractions and is thinking good thoughts about you.

2. Review the highlights of your dating relationship. The point is not to tediously cite the benefits of dating you (as if negotiating a contract) but to take a moment to reflect on where you've been together already so that you can focus on where you want the relationship to go. Tell her how much she's come to mean to you and why you want her to be a central part of your life.

3. Tell her you want to be an exclusive couple, and be prepared to give something up in the process. For example, if the girl you've been dating says that she's interested but she wants you to spend more time with her instead of your friends on the weekends, let her know you are ready to make that sacrifice. The point you must get across is that you want her to be your focus and you are willing to do what it takes to make that happen.
