Low voltage mounting brackets anchor wall plates.

Low voltage mounting brackets are plastic frames, anchoring a low-voltage jack or plate to a wall. These brackets are inexpensive, mount with household tools and are an essential fixture in any installation of speaker wire, networking cable or coaxial cables. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Place the mounting bracket on the wall, level to the other outlet plates and wall jacks in the room.

    • 2

Trace inside the bracket, using the pencil. Set the bracket aside temporarily.

    • 3

Cut out the traced rectangular line in the wall using the drywall saw. Remove the cut drywall scrap.

    • 4

Fold the legs of the bracket parallel to one another. Push the bracket flush into the cutout in the wall.

    • 5

Rotate the Philips screws attached to the mounting legs with the Philips screwdriver. Continue until you observe the mounting legs disappear behind the drywall, as they rotate perpendicular to the bracket. The front lip of the bracket and mounting legs sandwich the drywall to hold the bracket in place.
