How to Make a Safe Circle for a Ouija Board
Wicca is a religion with origins that can be traced back to pre-Christian paganism of Northern Europe and what is now the United Kingdom. Belief in magic is a central tenet of Wicca, whose members cast spells as a way of influencing real-world events and evoking the gods. Casting a circle is a Wiccan ritual that creates a kind of "safe space" to perform spells or divination rites, such as using a Ouija board. Wicca does not have any official position on Ouija boards, but generally believes in their ability to communicate with spirits, so circle-casting helps protect the practitioner from what he or she may encounter as a result.

1
Place the Ouija board in the center of the space around which you will cast your circle.
-
2
Use a compass to orient yourself in relation to the "four quarters": north, east, south and west.
-
-
3
Point toward north with your scepter (or with your arm if you don't have a scepter) and declare your intention to cast a circle, keeping away evil spirits and bad energy.
-
4
Do the same toward the other directions, repeating the invocation you said the first time.
-
5
Turn around three times in a clockwise direction to close the circle. Visualize and channel the positive energy circulating through the space.
-
6
Proceed to use the Ouija board as you ordinarily would while mentally maintaining that positive energy.
