How to Mail a Letter to an Actor
An actor has done his job well if you feel connected to one of his characters. Sometimes an actor's work is so touching that you feel the need to contact him. Whether it be to request a photograph or to let her know what she means to you, the ability to connect with a favorite actor can bring a deeper sense of affection or respect for the actor. When writing to an actor it is important to be respectful and sincere in your comments. Finding the right address to mail a letter to requires some investigation but it might be well worth your time.

Write to the actor directly. Some actors provide specific addresses for fan mail and autographs. For example, Tom Hanks offers autographed pictures by mail. Search for your favorite actor online to see if he offers a direct address.

Mail the letter to the actor's producer. Find out which studio or network produced the actor's most recent works. This can easily be determined by watching the beginning of the movie or noting which station broadcasts the actor's show. Write to the actor in care of this organization. It will have the actor's contact information and might forward it to her.

Send the letter to the agent. If you can find out who the actor's agent is, you can mail a letter to the actor in care of the agent. You can find the agent information online or through certain trade magazines, such as Variety or MovieMaker magazine.

You are much more likely to receive a personal response if your letter is thoughtful and sincere, showing some knowledge of the actor's work. Otherwise your letter might be seen as simply looking for an autograph.
