How to Get a Broader Audience
Growing the audience is an important goal for people in the arts, business and public life. Whether you are a musician, business owner or politician, the more followers you have, the more success you are likely to have. Fortunately, the strategies for audience-building are the same regardless of which profession you're in: advertise, talk, and deliver a good product.

1
Start a blog and update it regularly. Start a blog with a free blogging service intitially; move to a "homemade" blog once you build up an audience. Blogging services are better to get started with because they give you access to blog communities, which can supply your site with viewers. Choose a blog title that mentions your work or business directly.
-
2
Use Search Engine Optimization to get your blog readership up. Use Google trends to research which search terms are popular, and include these terms in your blog titles, keywords and tags. Do this with each blog entry you post.

3
Put up posters and distribute brochures. Use staples or glue to put up posters promoting your art or business on bulletin boards. Put brochures for your business in common areas where publications are accepted. Ask location managers about their policies regarding posters and brochures.
-
4
Promote your work by word of mouth. Have business cards or small brochures in your pocket at all times, and hand these out to anyone you talk to. Hand lots of cards out to people who might help you promote.

5
Pitch articles to local media. You probably won't be allowed to write editorials directly pushing your work, however you can usually include an author information section at the end with a URL for your website.
