How to Delete Your Yahoo

You can register Yahoo! accounts for free at yahoo.com.

Your Yahoo! account stores your Yahoo! Mail and address book, Yahoo! Groups, My Yahoo!, Monster and HotJobs information. If you want to remove this information from Yahoo!'s servers you can delete your Yahoo! account entirely. You won't be able to recover your personal information after deleting the account. All of your emails, contacts, groups and other information tied to your Yahoo! account will be deleted permanently. Other people will eventually be able to register new Yahoo! accounts using your former account name.

Instructions

1. Open the account termination Web page on yahoo.com in your Web browser.

2. Log in with your Yahoo! user account name and password if you aren't already logged in.

3. Confirm the account deleting by typing your password into the text box under "Please confirm your identity with your password" on the page.

4. Type the code shown in the picture into the "Type the Code Shown" box below it.

5. Click the "Terminate This Account" button at the bottom of the page.

Tips & Warnings

• Yahoo! recommends canceling any premium services before deleting your account. You can remove your billing information by clicking the "My Services" link on the Yahoo! Premium Services Web page and clicking "Cancel" next to each service.
