How to Make a Game With a Halloween Cake
Costume contests are common at many Halloween parties. However, there are other games that can be a part of the festivities. Consider planning alternatives to the typical contests. Invite guests to participate eating and decorating contests instead. Halloween-inspired cakes can be the food guests are challenged to eat or decorate. Each contest can be by played by individuals or in groups. Guests will enjoy a departure from the usual Halloween party games. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Single-player Game:
- Cakes
- Black and orange frosting
- Table
- Chairs
- Blindfolds
- Stopwatch
- Halloween cupcakes
- Group Game:
- Plain cakes, one for each room
- Icing, one container per team
- Spatula
- Sprinkles, one for each team
- Icing bags, one for each team
- Timer
- Goodie bags
- Halloween candy

Cake Eating Contest

Decorate the cakes with the icing, but do not use sprinkles or other decorations. During an eating contest, these can become choking hazards. Use single-layer cakes or mini cakes.

Set up the cakes on a table. Have one person sit down in front of each cake.

Blindfold each person. They must keep their hands behind their backs as they eat the cake.

Start the stopwatch and let the contestants start eating their cake. The first person done eating their cake wins.

Give the winner their own cupcakes to take home and enjoy.
Cake Decorating

Select a theme for the cake decorating contest, but do not tell anyone the theme.

Place a cake in front of each person. Give each person a container of icing, spatula, pastry bag, and sprinkles. This game can also be played in groups of three to five people.

Reveal the theme. Set the timer for five minutes. Each person or team must complete the cake decorating incorporating the theme before the timer goes off.

Select a winner based on presentation and interpretation of the theme.

Award goodie bags filled with Halloween candy to the winner.
