How to Disable iMAP in "Thunderbird 3"
Email accounts in Thunderbird can be set up as a POP mail account or an IMAP account. Accounts that are set up to use IMAP cannot be easily disabled. Unlike a POP mail account, an IMAP account is set to synchronize with your web mail or another email account. You have to remove an account that uses an IMAP configuration from the program to disable it.
