How to Draw a Beetle Bug
Attempting to draw any bug is a simple matter of breaking it down into circles. Most insects have three sections to their bodies and limbs. Keep this in mind because the beetle has three sections to its body, and three sections to each of its six limbs.

1
Draw an egg-shaped oval sitting upright and a smaller circle just above it, measuring approximately a third of its size. Draw an egg-shaped oval above that circle, approximately the same size.
-
2
Draw eight lines, two coming out of top and middle sections, and four coming out of the lowest section. The lines should measure the same length as the height of the largest egg shape.
-
-
3
Convert the top two lines into antennas by making the lines thicker and introduce two pinchers on the top of the top section.
-
4
Round off the junctions of each sections so they smoothly connect and draw a vertical line down the lowest section.
-
5
Convert the lines coming out of the middle section by splitting them up into three equal sections. Make the lines slightly wavy to create a realistic appearance, and give the top section of the legs a slight concave shape.
-
6
Repeat that process for the other four legs, giving each of them concave extremities to give the impression they are claws.
-
7
Finish your drawing by introducing definitive features on the beetle's head. You can give it two circles on each side of its head for eyes, and split the top into two parts to give the appearance of a mouth.
