How to Contact Other People on Skype

Skype is a free way to search for and contact friends and family around the world, enabling you to search for other people using basic identification information. Send your friends and family members requests to be your Skype contacts. After the requests are accepted, you can instant message and have voice or video chats with your new contacts. You can also purchase Skype credit to call cell phones and landlines.

Instructions

1. Log in to Skype.

2. Click "Directory." In the blank field underneath "Find People," type the first and last name or email address of the person you want to find. Click "Search" to look for that person.

3. Scroll through the list of matching results to find the person you searched for. To the right of the person's name, you can find her location. Click the correct person's name and then click "Add Contact." Repeat the process to search for and make other contacts on Skype.
