How to Create Traceable Worksheets for Kids
Small children benefit from working with traceable worksheets because it gives them a guide to follow. Too often, it is difficult for a child to make a copy of something, such as a letter, that they have not first learned how to form properly. The first step in making a traceable worksheet for kids is deciding what the theme of the worksheet will be. A worksheet can be either computer-generated or handwritten, but it must be very clear and bold, so that it can be seen underneath another piece of paper.

1
Choose the theme for your worksheet. If you will be making a letter worksheet, for example, choose words and pictures that relate to the letter.

2
Look online or in a workbook to see if there is one you can copy, without having to make it up yourself. There are many online resources that allow you to custom-design your own worksheets for your students.

Create the worksheet by first using a pencil and a ruler to design the worksheet and then going over the worksheet with a bold black marker. You can also use a large font in a word processing program and print it out in very bold ink.
