Make payments to the school while earning your GED.

According to figures cited by GEDAdviceOnline.com, the average high school graduate with a traditional diploma earns $10,000 more per year than people who dropped out of high school. Wages for those with a General Educational Development (GED) diploma are higher than the wages of people who drop out of high school. If you earn a GED and then go to college, the wage difference compared to a high school dropout is hundreds of thousands of dollars more over a lifetime. Consider your GED as an investment in your future as you think about how to pay for it.

Register for GED classes. You can do this online, over the phone or, in some cases, in person. Speak to the registrar if you have questions.

Ask the GED school about a payment plan. Some schools accept credit card payments and/or money orders. Your school may split the total tuition cost into three or four monthly payments. Keep in mind that when you make payments the overall cost of tuition may be a bit higher than if you pay for the class upfront.
