How to Have an Affair in "The Sims 2"
Romantic interactions play an important role in "The Sims 2" and your Sim is able to date freely, taking on as many romantic partners as he likes. In "The Sims 2," any two Sims of the same age can fall in love, regardless of gender, and eventually marry and move in together. If your Sim finds married life to be boring, however, he can secretly carry on an affair behind the back of his mate -- unless or until he is caught.

Complete successful romantic interactions with another Sim such as Flirt, Hug and Kiss to build your romantic relationship and, eventually, marry. You can also designate two Sims as married if you make a new family in Create-a-Sim mode.

Build a relationship with the Sim you want to have an affair with. Do this by talking to the Sim, calling him on the phone or inviting him over to hang out. It is easier to enter into a romantic relationship with another Sim if you already have a strong friendship.

Flirt with the Sim you want to have an affair with when your spouse is not around. Romantic interactions like Flirting, Kissing and Sleeping with a Sim that is not your spouse will be considered being unfaithful.

Carry on romantic affairs away from prying eyes to avoid being caught. If you are on the same lot as your spouse and you sleep with another Sim, you will be caught. You can be on the same lot and Kiss, Hug or Flirt with another Sim as long as you are not in sight of your spouse. If other Sims see you cheating, they can pass the information to your spouse.

Choose the Move Out or Break Up option with your spouse if you are unable to reconcile after cheating.
