How to Stop Facebook Text Alerts
Facebook text alerts keep you up to date on certain Facebook notifications, such as when another member approves a friend request or posts to your wall. Since the alerts are delivered to your mobile phone, you can be kept aware of your account while you are away from a computer. If you find the alerts to be unnecessary or annoying after you sign up, it is easy to disable the service.

Go to the "Account" link at the top of your Facebook page and click on "Account Settings" in the drop-down list.

Click on the "Mobile" tab.

Scroll down to the "Facebook Text Messages" section. Click the circle next to "Off" to disable text alerts.

Remove your phone number from Facebook mobile altogether by clicking the "Remove" link to the right of your number in the "Mobile Phones" section.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Save Preferences."

thank god I just tried the sending the text message but haven't gotten anything back yet bit I tried the first one and it worked I keept getting these updates after I made a commet on someones wall everytime somone relpied to anything agrgg! thanks
