How to Wash Out Brassy Hair Dye

Brassy hair is sometimes the result of trying to lighten hair more than the recommended two shades. Unless you're patient enough to wait for the hair color to grow out, you'll need quick action to strip the hair dye from your hair before it sets completely. Does this Spark an idea?

Hot oil moisturizes hair and helps to remove unwanted hair dye. Slather the hot oil over your hair. Start at the roots and rub the oil down toward the ends. Coat the hair thoroughly, making sure to lift up sections so you can get to the hair underneath.

Leave the hot oil wrap on your hair for about 30 minutes to help loosen and remove the brassy hair color.

The right shampoo balances out the tone of brassy hair color. Rinse your hair under the shower to wet it thoroughly. Suds up your hair with a debrassing shampoo made to counteract any remaining orange or red brassiness. Follow with a debrassing conditioner. Continue to use the shampoo and conditioner to balance out the tone of your hair until the remainder of the brassy hair dye grows out or can be cut off.
