How to Update My Firefox Toolbar

The top bar of the Firefox browser, which includes the address bar as well as the search bar and menus (if you have them turned on), is customizable. You can add buttons to more efficiently view your homepage or downloads or access certain plug-ins. Alternatively, you may wish to update your Firefox toolbar and remove buttons that you no longer use to shrink the toolbar so more of your screen space is dedicated to the website or application you are visiting.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click on any open space on your Firefox toolbar and click "Customize."

    • 2

Drag any elements from the toolbar into the "Customize" screen to remove them. For example, you can remove the search bar from your toolbar this way. In addition to this, drag items from this screen to your toolbar to add them. Because Firefox 4 uses a minimal design, you may want to return designated "Stop" and "Reload" buttons. Other options include a "Home," "Download" or "Fullscreen" button.

    • 3

Click the "Done" button after you have finished updating your toolbar.
