To make graphs and charts you need to use the Numbers application that comes standard in the iWork productivity software bundle. Numbers allows you to created detailed spreadsheets of raw data and make a number of different graphs based on the data provided. These graphs can then be exported to another iWork application like Pages or Keynote, allowing you to incorporate graphs made in Numbers into your documents or presentations.

      Click the iWork folder located in your main Applications folder and select the Numbers application. Click "New Graph" in the pop-up menu. Browse the selection of graph styles, including 3-D, basic bar and line, and choose one that fits your style and topic. Line graphs are more useful for showing growth, while 3-D bar graphs are more useful for showing revenue by quarter.

      Enter the data the graph wizard asks for. It helps to have the data set the graph is based on next to your computer. Copy the data into the spaces provided.

      Create labels that are easily understood by anyone who might read the graph. Give the X and Y axis distinct and concise titles. Save the graph to your Documents folder when finished.
