How Do I Get Text in the Chat Box of Messenger?
Windows Live Messenger is an instant messaging program created by Microsoft. It allows you to connect to other Windows Live Messenger users all over the globe. This program has a range of features including text chat, video calling and the ability to send files. In order to use these features, you must sign in using your Windows Live Messenger details and start a conversation with an online contact.

Click the start button, open "All Programs" and select "Windows Live Messenger."

Enter your email address and password into the designated boxes and click "Sign In."

Browse your contact list for somebody you wish to talk too -- online contacts are labelled with either a green, red or yellow dot.

Double-click the desired contact to open a chat box.

Click in the empty space at the bottom of the chat box to place your cursor there. Begin typing to enter text into the box -- push the enter key to send the text to your contact.

Tips & Warnings
A red dot indicates that the contact is busy. A yellow dot indicates that the contact is away from his computer.
