How to Tease Your Bangs for a Bump
If you want hair full of volume, one of the best ways to achieve that is to tease or backcomb the hair. Backcombing hair involves brushing the hair toward the root, creating controlled, slightly tangled volume that lifts the hair from underneath. To give bangs additional volume before pinning them back, perform this styling method to the point of desired density. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Section your hair with a comb that has a double row of teeth or a hairbrush. Comb the bangs forward and the rest of your hair back, to keep it out of the way. Combs with double rows of teeth are designed specifically to tease hair. You may use a regular comb, if you prefer.
-
2
Grip your bangs as close to the ends as possible and hold them straight up.
-
-
3
Spray hairspray from behind, angled down to mist the roots.
-
4
Hold the comb to your hair, half-way between your hand and your scalp.
-
5
Brush down in quick, repeated strokes. Keep combing, until you achieve the desired volume.
-
6
Spray with hairspray, down at root level, once again.
-
7
Comb back lightly over the front area of bangs, which will be visible once you pin them in place. You want to smooth the top slightly. The teased hair should be underneath, not visible.
-
8
Lift the hair and tease again, if you feel more volume is necessary.
-
9
Pull the bangs back and arrange them the way you want them to appear.
-
10
Pin them in place with two bobby pins in an X pattern, to best secure the hair.
