Stack plastic cups for occasions at the end of the table so guests will not need to balance a drink as they fill their plates with tasty food. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Estimate the number of cups you need. Purchase enough cups for your expected guests with up to 20 percent extra to make sure you have enough cups. For example, if you expect 50 guests, have at least 10 extra cups.

    • 2

Determine the arrangement of the buffet table. For best results, choose one end for guests to start on, and place plates on this end. Place the main dishes and side dishes along the table for guests to serve themselves. Arrange condiments on the table after the side dishes. Place flatware and napkins after the condiments.

    • 3

Arrange the beverages at the end of the buffet line so they are the final item guests serve themselves. For example, if you have punch or iced tea and lemonade, arrange the pitchers and bowl immediately after the napkins.

    • 4

Stack the plastic cups at the very end of the buffet table beside the beverages. Make the cup stacks about 12 to 18 inches high with the bottoms of the cups facing up. If you have more than one cup color, stack the cups in alternating colors to create a visually pleasing and attractive cup display. Place at least three towers of stacked cups on the buffet table, but be prepared to replenish the cup stacks if the supply dwindles.

Consider pouring a few beverages into cups so guests will not have to pour their own. Place these poured beverages in front of the stacked cups.
