How to Check an E-Pass Account in Florida

Avoid long lines at toll booths with a Florida SunPass.

Florida drivers that frequently use toll roads, such as the Florida Turnpike sometimes choose to take advantage of the Florida E-Pass system, which is called SunPass. SunPass is a box or a sticker that you can place on your vehicle's windshield; when you go through a tollbooth SunPass lane the amount of the toll is removed from your SunPass account. You can check your SunPass balance, account information and replenish your account at any time by activating your transponder.

Instructions

1. Go to the SunPass website and click the "Activate Your Transponder" link. Before you can use your SunPass you have to do this. You need the transponder box or sticker you purchased to obtain your SunPass number.

2. Read the terms and conditions and click "I Accept." Click "Create Personal Account." Enter your personal information, such as your name and address, contact information and the transponder number located on your box or sticker. Choose a four-digit numeric PIN and enter it twice. Click "Next."

3. Confirm your information and submit your activation to view your account. Use the links at the top of the page to select options such as replenishing your account, check your account balance or manage your account. You can login to the SunPass account at anytime, even from your smartphone.
