How to Kill Yeti on "GTA San Andreas"

There is no naturally occurring Yeti that can be engaged in combat by the player in "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas." How, then, are there videos all over the Internet of players doing just that? Because savvy gamers can apply downloadable and unofficial modification patches (also known as "mods") to games to unlock elements that would not otherwise be available, including the famed "Yeti Mod."

Things You'll Need

• San Andreas Mod Installer
• Yeti Mod

Instructions

1. Download the San Andreas Mod Installer (SAMI) and install it on your PC. This program will be used to install the Yet Mod automatically, saving you the effort of doing it manually. It is a free download available at: http://www.gamefront.com/files/4622359/sami_v1.1.zip

2. Download the Yeti Mod package to the desktop of your PC. This contains the actual data that will be tacked onto the game's code to put the Yeti feature into it once installed. It can be downloaded for free at: http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=4316)

3. Open the San Andreas Mod Installer and click Install Mod to begin the installation process.

4. Click Folder and then Browse. Select the Yeti Mod folder from your desktop, and continue. Click Install on the next screen.

5. Launch your copy of "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" and a Yeti should now appear in the vicinity of Mount Chilliad,

6. Approach and attack the Yeti to provoke him into a confrontation. He can then be killed like any other enemy, but requires significantly more firepower as his stamina is tremendous.

• Third party game modifications, such as the Yeti Mod, are not endorsed by Rockstar Games (maker of the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise) and always pose somewhat of a risk to your game if you have no experience installing them or install one of questionable integrity. The most common issue following the installation of mods is constant game crashing. The only fix for such problems is often reinstalling the game and starting over. Alter your game at your own risk. 2. Owners of "San Andreas" as it was released in late 2005 and afterward should be advised that more recent copies of the game are programmed to disallow mods due to controversy and litigation that came earlier over an explicit unlockable mini-game.
