1
Create horizontal stripes on the yellow dress or T-shirt using black electrical tape. Place the black stripes 2 inches apart. The number of stripes needed for your costume depends on the length of the outfit.
-
2
Paint two Styrofoam balls yellow to be used for the ends of the bee's antennae. Allow the balls to dry completely.

-
3
Attach two black pipe cleaners to a black headband. Press both Styrofoam balls into the ends of each pipe cleaner to create the bumblebee antennae.
-
4
Cut two wings for the costume out of white felt. The exact size of the wings depends on the height of your teen daughter. The wings should be big enough to cover the space from the top of her shoulders to her waist. Use a template if you don't feel comfortable cutting the wings out freehand.
-
5
Cut two holes into each bee wing. The holes should be place at the top and bottom of the inner side of the wing. Thread an elastic band through each hole on both wings. Tie the ends of the bands together so that your daughter can slide the wings on and off her arms.
