How to Address a Money Order
Unlike a check, a money order is prepaid and is not tied to your checking account. It looks similar to a check, however. Like a check, a money order includes a "Pay to" line, the purchaser's address and a signature line. If the money order is not filled out correctly, the financial institution may refuse to accept it. However, you only need to include your name, the payee's name and your address.

Write down the payee's name on the "Pay to the order of" line. For example, if you were paying XX Inc. you would you write "XX Inc." without quotations.

2
Write your address on the "Purchaser's address" line, not the address of the person or company to whom you are making payment. Money orders sometimes do not provide a space for the payee's address.

Sign the line titled "Purchaser, signer for the drawer." After signing your name, tear the top of the money order off at the dotted line. This part serves as your receipt.
