How Can I Block Porn Advertisements in Mozilla Firefox?

You can install additional mini-applications, called add-ons, to Mozilla Firefox to add additional features or functions to the Web browser. Adblock Plus is a Firefox add-on that blocks unwanted or inappropriate advertisements, such as porn ads, from showing up on the Web sites you visit. Adblock Plus can also be modified so that you can view ads on trusted sites.

Instructions

1. Open Mozilla Firefox and select "Tools" from the menu bar. Click "Add-Ons," then click "Get Add-Ons."

2. Click the "Browse All Add-Ons" link to open a new tab in Mozilla Firefox. Enter "adblock" into the "Search for Add-Ons" box.

3. Press Enter to search for AdBlock Plus. Click the "Add to Firefox" button, then click "Install Now" on the "Software Installation" window.

4. Click "Restart Firefox" when the message "Restart Firefox to Complete Your Changes" appears in the "Add-Ons" window.

5. Click the "Restart" button to reload Firefox. AdBlock Plus will now block porn advertisements from appearing. Select the "ABP" icon to the right of the address bar to change the Adblock Plus preferences.

6. Select from the options in the context menu to disable Adblock Plus on a specific domain or Web page, or on all sites. ABP is automatically active on all pages, but certain websites -- such as Youtube -- may not play media content while Adblock Plus is active.
