How to Upload Firmware to a Router
The firmware in a router is a combination of software and hardware. Uploading firmware to a router is the same as updating the firmware of the router. It is important to update a router's firmware because of the router's central role in controlling network traffic. Newer firmware will likely improve the performance of the router and/or fix security problems. It is usual for manufacturers to patch a router's firmware by providing a downloadable file on their websites.
