Use an HP/Palm Pre smartphone with iTunes by installing Salling Media Sync.

HP/Palm Pre smartphones include a pre-installed "Music" app for playing digital audio files. You can transfer audio files to your HP/Palm Pre by connecting it to a computer using a Micro USB to standard USB cable. If you already have all of your music imported into Apple's iTunes media organizer, you may want to sync your iTunes Library to the phone directly from iTunes. You can not sync to an HP/Palm Pre with iTunes alone, but it is possible by installing the program Salling Media Sync to your computer. A free version is available, but for faster syncing speeds, you will need to pay for the full version.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your Internet browser and visit salling.com.

    • 2

Click the "Salling Media Sync" link under "Windows Products" or "Mac Products," depending on your computer's operating system.

    • 3

Click the "Get Free Trial" button to download the Salling Media Sync installer file to your computer. Open the file to finish installing the program to your computer.

    • 4

Connect your HP/Palm Pre smartphone to your computer using a Micro USB to standard USB cable. One of these cables is included as a part of the default wall charger packaged with your phone.

    • 5

Tap the "USB Drive" on the HP/Palm Pre touchscreen. Salling Media Sync will open on your computer.

    • 6

Click the "Sync" button in Salling Media Sync to sync your iTunes Library to your HP/Palm Pre smartphone.

    • 7

Click the "Eject" button after you are finished syncing your iTunes Library to the HP/Palm Pre. You can now disconnect the Micro USB to standard USB cable from your phone and access your iTunes music from the "Music" app.
