How to Clean Non-Removable Doll Clothes

Clean doll clothing with laundry detergent.

Many dolls come with sewn on clothing that are not removable. While this prevents clothing from getting lost or misplaced, it also creates a challenge when the doll clothes need cleaned. Luckily the cleaning routine that keeps your doll looking like new is similar to spot-cleaning of your own clothing.

Things You'll Need

• Bowl
• Water
• Spoon
• Mild laundry detergent
• Cleaning rag

Instructions

1. Fill a small bowl with 1 cup water and 3 drops mild laundry detergent. Stir the ingredients with a spoon to dissolve the detergent.

2. Dip your cleaning rag into the soapy water, and wring out the rag with your fingertips.

3. Wipe down the doll clothing. You want to make sure the rag is not soaking wet, as too much moisture can absorb into any doll stuffing and create mildew growth. Continue wiping over the clothing until all residue is removed.

4. Rinse the cleaning rag, wring out the rag again and wipe over the doll clothing to remove any soap residue.

5. Let your doll air dry, in the sun, if possible.
