How to Normalize the Volume on an iPod Playlist

Turn on your iPod by pressing and holding down the "ON/OFF" button and select the "Settings" icon after the iPod has booted up.

Select the "Music" option on the "Settings" menu.

Switch the "Sound Check" option from "OFF" to "ON." All of your songs will now play at a uniform volume, regardless of their recording volume.
