How to Donate Pajamas to Kids
You don't have to be rich to help a good cause. You don't even have to donate money. Sometimes, the simplest of things can make a big difference. New pajamas for kids are very much needed and appreciated. If you are donating them to a particular organization, check to find out its policies, along with the sizes it needs most.

Conduct a pajama drive at a school or church. Ask teachers at the school or the pastor at the church if they know of any needy kids that could use help. If so, ask parents and church members for donations of new pajamas or cash to buy pajamas. Give the pajamas to the teachers or pastor so they can pass them on to the kids.

Use the holiday season to find charities such as The Salvation Army that accept donations of pajamas. Look for an "angel tree" -- a Christmas tree that bears paper angels on which needy kids write their gift wish list. Purchase some items from the wish list but add a couple of pairs of pajamas. Kids rarely ask for pajamas, but they can always use them.

Work with a local homeless shelter to donate pajamas. Women's shelters often house children as well. To find homeless shelters, check your telephone book or Yellowpages.com. Type in "homeless shelter" and your town and state. The website should give you a contact number. Call the shelter to ask about its donation policies and convenient times to bring in donations.

Swing by local orphanages or hospice homes. The children at these places are often in need. To find these homes, ask school principals and teachers or look in the phone book.
