The office supply store, Staples, offers customers product plans that cover small electronics, like graphing calculators, to large, more expensive electronics, like laptops. These plans can be purchased along with the electronics item at a Staples store. Shredders made by Staples are one of the items that can be covered under what is known as a Product Replacement Plan. These plans cover smaller electronics under $300. To make sure your shredder is covered under the plan that you have bought, it has to be registered first.

      Purchase a Product Replacement Plan with your shredder at the Staples store. The plan price will depend on how expensive your shredder is. For a list of plan prices, look at the Product Replacement Plan pricing website.

      Go to the Product Replacement Registration website.

      Fill out all the necessary information, such as the receipt information, customer information and product information to register the product. Product information will be on the actual product unless noted that it's on the receipt. Click "Continue" to send the information through.
