How to Heat Frozen Biscuits & Gravy
Fresh-baked biscuits, hot and flaky from the oven, are a natural accompaniment to many home-style meals. Their soft and absorbent texture is especially good for sopping up a plateful of richly flavored gravy. In some parts of the country, a plate of gravy and biscuits is a much-loved light meal in its own right. Both gravy and biscuits can be frozen and reheated for later use. Does this Spark an idea?

Wrap the frozen biscuits in aluminum foil. Crimp the ends to ensure the package is airtight. Place the biscuits in a preheated oven at 300 degrees F for 20 to 30 minutes, until warmed through.

Open the foil and place the biscuits back in the oven for another five minutes if desired, for the outer surfaces to dry and regain their slightly crisp texture.

Place the gravy in a small saucepan with 1 tbsp. of water for every cup of gravy. Warm over a low to moderate burner, stirring regularly, as the gravy thaws

Increase the heat slightly, once the gravy is fully thawed, and stir constantly until it reaches 165 degrees F or hotter. The gravy will be steaming vigorously at that point, and forming occasional large bubbles.

Thin the gravy, if needed, with a small amount of additional water. Serve hot with the reheated biscuits.

Tips & Warnings
Both gravy and biscuits can be reheated in the microwave, if speed is desired. Heat the gravy in a heat-proof measuring cup on high power at one minute increments, stirring each time to distribute the heat evenly. Wrap the biscuits in a napkin or paper towel, and heat in 30-second increments. Some will be ready before others, so have a basket or a serving dish ready nearby and remove the hot biscuits as they are ready. The biscuits will suffer a loss of quality when heated in the microwave.
